LDH is used for oxyanion removal from water. But, it dissolves to an extent in water during adsorption of oxyanion. To avoid it, aging of LDH is suggested by many researchers. I am interested to know about the typical dissolution value of LDH materials that researchers face in adsorption tests.
dissolution value of LDH depends on various parameters such as
1]. Granule size
2] Volume
3] Time
4} density of the particles
5] porosity
6] size and charge of anion etc.
I think there is considerable range.
Of course, pH of the solution as well as the type and ratio of LDH cations play a role.

thanks guys for you replies. Yes, pH is very critical for LDH stability. but my problem is that what I synthesized has low stability in aqueous at pH 8 which is reported to be safe for my material.
I am filtering the suspension by sintered glass filter and was wondering if I should filter under nitrogen atmosphere or not? I mean we know that protection of solution from CO2 during coprecipitaion is required, since we believe that carbonate competes for interacalation into LDH layers. Right? now what if there is no protection from CO2 during filtration????? Do you guys filter under N2 gas or do just regular sintered glass filtration in room atmosphere ???
