This type of fake journal websites may send many spam E-mails to a very large number of unaware Internet users and researchers. If the fake journals use the name of a well-known journal and make up its site, then most of its advertisements include the following cases:
1. Name and its impact factor (the impact factor of the original journal is mentioned)
2. Notifying a limited period of time between the submission and peer review process (Generally less than a month)
3. Presenting the ISSN of the original journal
4. There is no mention of a peer review process or basic submission requirements.
5. There are articles listed but no evidence of an editorial board to review those articles.
6. Notifying that the journal is a multidisciplinary one
7. The journal has no address or contact information other than an email address listed.
8. There is no mention of an APF, which means you’ll likely receive an outrageous bill after your article has been rapidly accepted for publication
The real journal “Journal of Chengdu University of Technology (Science and Technology Edition)” is Scopus indexed (https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/3300147401). According to Scopus their homepage is http://cdlgxyxb.periodicals.net.cn/(however this one does not seem to work properly).
It is a typical example of a hijacked journal. As far as I can see this is a subscription based journal exclusively in Chinese. The site you mention is already identified here https://ugccare.unipune.ac.in/Apps1/User/Web/CloneJournalsGroupII as the cloned version. The proper homepage is http://www.xbzk.cdut.edu.cn/
Without the above knowledge there are still a number of red flags (some indicated by already Abhishek Kumar Sharma ):
-Indexing mentioned one of the so-called misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ): CiteFactor
-Prominently mentioning an impact factor (of 6!) is false. You can check here https://mjl.clarivate.com/home that the journal with ISSN 1671-9727 is not indexed in SCIE or SSCI (so they have no impact factor at all)
-Contact info lacks physical address and uses a Gmail address (often used by predatory journals)
-Looking at some of their papers in the archive of the fake journal then I see that they are poorly edited, and the number of papers differ from the number of papers indexed in Scopus
So, I am afraid that you stumbled on a sad example of a hijacked journal. Avoid for sure.
Unfortunately, it is not true that SCImago is completely free of fraudulent journals (predatory or hijacked journals). This is because SCImago bases their ranking solely on what is provided by Scopus (and they are unfortunately not fully reliable) and another reason is because it is only updated ones a year (and in the meantime a lot can change).
The whole point is that Scopus is having difficulties to recognize and acting fast against predatory and hijacked journals and therefor 'pollutes' the SCImago database. See also:
