If it is non-centrosymmetric crystal means we will usually compare its NLO propery through SHG (Second Harmonic Generation) by using the stand materials like KDP, urea, etc. Incase if it is centrosymmetric crystal means we directly go for Z-Scan to find the THG. So which one is the standard material for the best comparison of Third order NLO properties. I kindly request if anyone know the answer please reply as much as possible.
The question is not clear to me. Still.... when you talk about second order processes, you will need crystals as standards as the symmetry constaints limits the number of samples. In third order, any medium will give you signal as there is no symmetry constraint - you can use liquids as well. CS2 is a well studied liquid which can be taken as a standard for third order
For z-scan, fused silica and carbon disulfide are very common reference media for n2 measurements. Attached are links to good reference data.
