As we Know there is many common ways to measure leaf area like leaf area metere system,computer ,scan method and finaly the formula suggested for citrus species by Chou,G.J1966:
Leaf area(cm2)= 0.665*L*W
do you find this formula accurate quite enough to use in citrus.
Dear Sir. I hesitate a little to give my reply, since what I'm suggesting is not in any way sophisticated, and might be frowned upon by scientists with access to sophisticated equipment with which to measure leaf area, but here's a suggestion which I have used in the past, when I have not had access to such equipment. I hope no one reading this laughs at me for this. I have found by far the simplest way to do so is by harvesting a suitably representative number of leaves, and to trace their outlines on small squared graph paper. It is a simple process to then cut out, from the same paper, a square of known area (say 10 cm x 10 cm = 100 square cm). The next step is to accurately weigh the standard square section of known area, and then weight the individual leaves. A simple proportion sum may then be used to calculate, from a known mass for a known area, the individual areas of each leaf. I am certain that you will receive responses of other methods, but I confess that this high-school biology class type method is one I have used before, and given my objectives for the determination, has worked well. I've attached a recent reference by authors Pandey and Singh (2011) in which this method is compared to others. I hope this answer has been of interest and helpful. I have been using a little program called imagej it's free to download and simple to use, if you can't figure it out, there are many tutorials on YouTube, but it I s very simple and accurate, just scan your image with a known measurement and you are all set
