Usually, the tourism is more developed in the coastal areas near the sea where people can naturally relax and sped holiday vacations. At the same time, the food in such areas is often based on the fish and seafood. Good examples are: Spain, Greece, France, Italy. Their traditional cuisine is very tasty. It includes lots of fish, vegetables, fruits, cereals, olives, cheese, vine, etc. All in very balanced combination. So, yes, there is certain, deep correlation between them.

I think that relation between is the cultural activities from a destination, I mean if you are in an specific place, the food have specific characteristics.. in my country we have a lot of food diversity, and it is an important factor from local tourism
Gastro-tourism is a emerging niche market in the tourism industry targeting food festivals, taste specialists, and other related constituencies, also greatly affecting the hospitality sector. However, people who will plan a trip because of food are only a minority compared to travelers who consider what and where to eat during their journey. Therefore, food is and should be integrated within the entire travel package as a valuable sensory experience, energy booster and connection point with local cultures.
Food is a crucial part of culture. One way to know the society is by experience their food. Special food that can only be served at certain region could be promoted as quality tourism products and services which in turn could help the host community and local entrepreneurs in food-based SMEs.
