Usually, certain amount of photocatalyst powder is placed in the dye/drug (organic contaminates) solution under UV/Vis light irradiation. I found some confusion about effect of reactive volume, sample volume, and solid/liquid ratio during photodegradation process. Thank you.
How the rate of reaction depends on the concentration of the catalyst? How the rate of reaction depends on the concentration of substrates? Is the isothermal process? Is there a change in the volume of the reaction mixture during the process? etc.

The best way would be to deal with dye concentration, and amount of catalyst per given volume, because generally degradation rates depend on these. There are other factors though which may affect this linear relationship, such as increased dye molecules decreasing radiation that reaches the catalyst, decreasing catalytic efficiency.
It is well known that the rate of such a reaction depends on the concentration of the substrates, the concentration of the catalyst (below a certain limit), the intensity of light ( in the range adapted to the catalyst type) and on other factors. There may also be inhibitory or enhancing effects. However, it is still unknown what the author of the question had in mind when he wrote "some confusions". Regards,
As already mentioned, the rate of photocatalytic reaction depends on factors such as substrate concentration, catalyst concentration and light intensity. As far as the sampled volume is concerned, it should be up to 10% of the reactive volume at the end of the experiment.
