Career guidance can for some be an important element in their choice of career. For some it is tradition og the wishes from parents. For some there was a path of many more or less intended happenings that ended with a academic career. How did you decide to become an academic? (If it was a decision at all). What is the reason you became an academic?
I became an academic because I want to transfer the correct knowledge to the coming generation.

I became an academic because being a university pofessor allowed me to teach undergraduate and graduate students. I think that the teaching profession is the noblest profession of all professions, just because good teachers want their students to become citizens of the world.
By teaching I deal with education. I think that only education can save societies and even individuals from possible collapse be it violent or gradual. Of course, education is costly but it is far less costly than its alternative, ignorance.
Being an acedemic allowed me to perform research, that is, to look for the unknown and advance knowledge. What we know of the universe is almost nothing compared to what we don't know. By doing research we can know a little of what remains to be known.
I think of myself as an individually who is intrinsically curious. Becaming an an academic allowed me to "kiil", say, my intellelctual curiosity,
Of course, the wishes from my parents also influenced me to become an academic, even though I had had the opportunity to follow the course I wanted to follow.

A part of academic nature is inherited by person and the other portion is his passion . A creative mind is generally academic .
Being able to teach and improve the educational system. I get my inspiration from my late uncle who was passionate about learning and teaching.

I have always dreamed of doing science and teaching at a university. as a child I asked my parents where she was learning about it. At the university for three consecutive years I did research that ended with a graduate thesis. Then I realized that this is exactly what I want to do in the future and I have to take an academic career. I am not sorry - on the contrary, I am happy to work with students, to lead graduates and PhD students and to hear words of appreciation.
This is my calling and I am proud of it.

I became an academic in order to do prevention medicine, being in university allows me to do a lot of researches and community work as prevention is better than cure.
