We have synthesized 'graphene' on the MO-GaN with ethylene. As you can see in the raman spectrum, the 2D peak is disappeared. Can anyone help me explain this phenomenon? Thanks a lot !
2D-band is very sensitive to the stacking order of the graphene layers along the c-axis. So if 2D-band disappeared means there is no ordering at all along the c-axis (perpendicular direction to each graphene sheet).
Please read the paper "The chemical and structural analysis of graphene oxide with different degrees of oxidation, C A R B ON 5 3 ( 2 0 1 3 ) 3 8 –4 9" for further details.
Seems like you synthetized a multilayer and high defect graphene (or graphene oxide), you should revise the parameters of your synthesis method for the obtention of good quality graphene of few, bi or mono layer system.
