During my research work, I have observed band gap narrowing in graphene-polyaniline hybrids compared to pure polyaniline. I would like to know the reason behind this observation
One of the reason may be polyaniline may have got functionalised by graphene. If you dont want any change in the bandgap of the polymer then just go for composite synthesis.
Narrow band gap is beneficial for us. But I want to know the reason behind the reduction in band gap. Is it the by the formation of intermediate energy levels or by the change in position of HOMO or LUMO?
