What is the purpose of transplanting leukemic cells into healthy mice?

During my research about AML I read a lot about transplanting leukemic cells from mutated mice into healthy mice to see if they develope leukemic phenotype or not. What does it say about the leumeic cells if they develop a leukemic phenotype or not?
