What is the purpose of choosing a buffer which shows more quenching in spectrofluorimetric determination of Imipramine HCl ?

For example, when testing the effect of different buffer solutions with imipramine HCl (as quencher) in reducing the intensity of Eosin Y (Emission) , some buffers are producing interference and some are good and show more quenching.

In case of choosing (Acetic acid-Sodium acetate) as a buffer which show better quenching

But what is the purpose of this thing?
