I am reaching out regarding the issue of conversion devices/auto sears/switches that make it possible to convert semi automatic pistols and rifles into full automatic.
These devices are proliferating in the Caribbean where we run a project, see https://www.smallarmssurvey.org/resource/weapons-compass-caribbean-firearms-study
We are working with the public health sector there to try to anticipate the public health impact of thee possible growing use of these devices in crime and the associated increase in autoomatic fire in shootings. I am therefore wondering if there has been any research on this in the US or elsewhere, e.g. does greater use of these devices result in different injury patterns on victims (number and placement of wounds) as well as more 'bystander' victims of shootings?
