I need to make urine acellular to be able to store it and subsequently test it for ascorbic acid content.
Dear Mariasole,
I would just filter it using a filter paper, preferably with a pore size of smaller than a micron, e.g., 0.2 micron filter.
best wishes, Refik
Dear Refik,
Thank you very much for your help. Really appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Mariasole
You can centrifuge the urine (1200 rpm, 10-15min at 4 degrees), take the supernatant and store it.
I used to centrifuge it, as Nikola suggests. If you want you can analyse the supernatant, acellular urine, or the pellet, which contains crystals and cells.
Good luck
Fernando
Hi Nikola and Fernando,
thanks a lot for this. It was really helpful.
all the best
Use 2% acetic acid to dissolve RBC and filter for WBC. Centrifuge filtrate and pipette supernatant.
thanks Mikholae
