Globally, bio-energy is the largest renewable energy source and especially important in the heat sector. This has led to the unsustainable exploitation of the country’s forestry resources forests .
Bio energy may be valuable somewhat to fulfill energy needs. However, we have to reckon with its limitations (e.g.: subtracting arable land from food production and its risks of degradation). I am thinking here about ethanol from corn. Among all the possibilities I favor the employment of waste biomass as its gasification could contribute to electricity production. Again bioenergy is NOT a panacea for resolving the world "hunger/need" of cheap consumable energy without inserting in this equation a very strong emphasis on CONSERVATION of energy.
