Our lab is disposing of some old dansyl-substituted amino acids leftover from the previous lab that occupied our space. However, safety data sheets are few and far between, and the ones that I have found have been largely uninformative.

What is known about their toxicity? That is, what is proper disposal of dansyl-substituted amino acids? Can they be dissolved and simply rinsed down the sink? or need they be taken by hazardous waste professionals?
