The material I am working on is molybdenum permalloy. According to published literature, this alloy possesses a magnetic permeability between 8,000 and 120,000. Nevertheless, when I calculated the magnetic permeability of my sample, it equaled 35, which is completely different from what is reported in the literature. My VSM results are expressed in the Gaussian system (emu/g-G) and I converted them to the SI system (Tesla-A/m). Below is a figure that shows how I converted the magnetic units.
Are there any problems with my magnetic unit conversion? Or would this difference result from the effect of processing techniques on my sample's magnetic permeability?
I would appreciate any response.
