Does someone have any practical experience with those columns?
The producer suggest ODS-B are more suitable for hydrophilic analytes, but without any concrete information.
Can they be used interchangeably with ODS-A columns? Are there expected changes in retention times of non-polar analytes? Are there differences in their pH tolerance?
It's a 'great' selling point. ODS-A is an older style column that has no endcapping so bare silanol groups can cause tailing of the molecule of interest. The solution used to be using an 'ion pairing' agent like TEA. The problem was columns had to be dedicated since TEA could not be completely washed off.
ODS-B is endcapped usually (but this is proprietary information of the manufacturer). However, it is not HILIC!
Amino or cyano or HydraAQ columns can tolerate high concentrations of Water and can be called HILIC (sometimes). But the molecule of interest determines the type and mode of selection!
Non-polar analytes may not elute from a HILIC column or never be retained (elutes in the solvent front). pH should always be a consideration particularly since pH is a water phenomenon.

The question is what specific column works in your application
While I don't have experience with that particular brand of column, I have used regular and "AQ" type C18. For that brand of columns, both the ODS-A and ODS-B are end-capped (see link below, I find manufacturers are truthful about that sort of thing). The AQ type C18 column, such the ODS-B, has an end-capping that reduces phase collapse greatly, so it can be run in 100% water if needed. The ODS-A column has a more typical hydrophobic end-capping.
Practically speaking, you are likely to see resolution differences, using the same compounds and solvent systems, below 50% organic solvent between the two columns. You will probably see very polar compounds, exhibit better retention and resolution on the ODS-B column. Compounds that require more than 50% organic to elute will be less affected by the hydrophilic end-capping on the ODS-B.
