This world is not void of good persons & countries who will offer humanitarian help on the basis of ethical reasons without any consideration of creed, ethnic origin, color, and gender. These are a low percentage at the moment but they offer great hope & good example to follow. They draw the "straight" line next to the "wrong" lines & this correct line is bound to attract righteous persons from all directions with an eventual triumph of positivity of human nature over negativity. I may seem dreaming but I think that it is always feasible to expect & then see constructive changes though they may take time. 

Hi, I think its hypothetical question because we are not able to set any  "suitable" parameters for it. But as I think, country should  prepare some kind of GDP evaluation, economic standard, The people who are already under requirements for govt support.in own country.   Hypothetically saying somewhere 5-10%  of current population who is below the poverty line in that country itself.  Furthermore, that amount of help or services should provide.  Moreover, if country is willing to provide more primary help like doctors, Temp. camp, Food and water  as much as possible, it should never based on religious . "Religious" should not parameter for helping peoples.

Dear Qasim, I believe that the persons who provide assistance out of a kind and charitable heart are few in number; 10% is a possible estimate.  They may not look for the interests in this life 'to fill the stomach' (so to speak).  But they may be doing it to please God the Creator.  'BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART and motives'.

In my study on motivation, I found that most respondents report both intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation in most of their actions.  A good deed is still a good deed, whatever the motivation.

I think it is rare that provide aid to the needy, especially from organizations and countries, unless they have interest or benefit.

Very little percentage (not more than 10%), are humanitarian --- majority of that are with interest, may be dormant!

Yes. Agree. “A good deed is still a good deed, whatever the motivation.” By the way, I think most good deeds come from the hearts without calculation.

The question is very interesting, in practice very  low percentage of people/organizations/ countries involved in these aspects. Still today there are some set of  people/ organizations who sacrifice their service without any personal interest. But today most of this type of  activities liked with self interest.

I think that everyone helped the other dozens of times "without taking into account the religious, nationality, gender, or benefit considerations of self-interest". When you cross a very slippery road covered with ice, and your companion can fall, you instinctively stretch out your hand for help; when your neighbor forgot her key and can't enter her home, and the outside temperature is -25 C, you invite her to your house and give her a cap of  hot tea, without having thoughts about the holy books; if your child has grown, and his closet is full of good things, you give them to poor kids without thoughts of heavenly reward. And so on. Finally, I know people who donate anonymously. It is always a joy to see how happy other people are.

I think , there are people of different attitudes and mindsets , some believe in helping others , some like to stay cocooned either within himself/herself or within his/her family. but , this world is still driven by the true  selfless social crusadors , who always believe in the sacred gospel of:  LIVE AND LET OTHER SLIVE IN PEACE. Helping others is not necessarily driven by any kind of selfish lust. It is just an altitude , and believing in God; whosoever may be; which religion , one belongs to ; which race one represents; which geographical region , one represents.... but we have to be very careful and cautious about intentional and unsolicited help from others...

Countries at the forefront in welcoming to refugees (like mine) cannot afford to make any distinction of any kind. First of all, there are lives to be saved!

Despite the political complexities, but it is difficult to believe that the aid may have political repercussions. Physician or university professor is rare to contend with the patient or student on the basis of race or religion. The rights of all their countries or their religion or their thinking trends show they are united in assistance to the needy, with some exceptions.

What is the percentage of those who provide services and assistance to humanitarian and ethical reasons, without taking into account the religious, nationality, gender, benefit or considerations of self-interest?

The percentage who are willing to do so maybe can reach 90%. The percentage who have provided assistances are more than 50%. But why the percentage who always do it is low. And why following a society development, the rate is decreasing?

The number may be meger, hence we need to promote voluntary contribution of citizens

When there is a situation to help, "What to-be given" matters more important, so that the beneficiary becomes independent. Humanitarian gestures to help the vulnerable group in the society take care of all the bills involved such as school fees, uniform, sandals, text books and accommodations through scholarship is good and improves their livelihood in the future.

There are humanitarian people or international organizations which  provide assistance, in the above mentioned  situations, only due to ethical reasons: It is its mission or reason for being. In case of  natural disasters or wars, many powerful countries  bring more supports to its political allied. That not being the case, generally they offer support in order to gain political profits in the future.

This is very difficult to assess. Some charitable organizations spread across the world are selfless and are doing yeomen service. The self interest and flamboyancy comes into picture if individuals are involved in philanthropy. However, it is better we do not make it a debatable issue. Because, the act of charity either by  individuals or by an organizations are all directed to a common cause of up lifting/supporting/caring people in distress. This is my personal and humble opinion!

It is hard to get a good estimate as many give to charities for purely altruistic reasons and anonymously. I see many among my family and relatives. My wife is very active in organizing people for helping the poor families.

Researchers have looked into why people donate, why they don’t do it as much as they would hope to and how to bridge this gap. The explanations for charitable giving fall into three broad categories:

There are genuine people on earth who help and sacrifice for others without any strings attached. However, such people are rare, not exceeding 20%. Due to the great lawlessness and selfish interests, a large numbers of people don't help others.

In time of needs, any help or assistance offered is and should be appreciated. There is no need to ask for the motive of the helping hand. It is natural for one human being to help another fellow human beings in needs. A starving person receiving food would not ask what is the motive of the giver. We are moved to act when we see the suffering of another human being. To be less or turn our heads the other way is another form of cruelty.

Good point. It is difficult to have statistics about it. However, if we start from the lack of interest in moral action and the willingness to give aid by ethical convictions, I do not believe that those who have this disposition without political, social or religious purposes, but by simple ethical criteria, do so to be part of a statistical number What moves them is the recognition of the other and their condition of being part of what we call humanity and of which without particular interests we feel a part.
