This is awesome question; hope as a researcher you saw the things exactly what happened in most of the developing countries. most of the wastes in India were simply dumped in some of the isolated areas if it is urban; or simply dumped within the backyards in village style. now a days only some of the sectors trying to convert the wastes in to manure in some part of the country. but most of the things were unhygienic way of disposal only; there is no full implementation of landfill what we studied as procedure
Due to segregated nature, composition and distribution of waste it is very difficult to ascertain how much of the waste is composted, land filled or pyrolyzed. In most of the cases, the rural areas, the waste is converted to manure and landfilling is most commonly seen in urban areas.
