I would like to invite your contribution for this questions about inset-fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna.
The atached figure shows the patch geometry of an inset-fed rectangular patch, where the notch width ‘g’ is located symmetrically along the width of the patch.
Some authors suggest that gap "g" will be at least half of the width of the microstrip feed "Wmf", others works suggest that the gap to be equal to Wmf, althought no theoretical justification was given for this rule.
Someone would have a theoretical referential for this question?

Some of the research papers to calculate the gap size (g) of the inset feed microstrip antenna are enclosed for your reference. From the papers, it is found that the gap can be order of wmf, wmf/10, wmf/20 and so on. But some analytical solution and mathematical equations are also given in the enclosed papers to calculate the gap (g) size of the inset feed microstrip antenna. In RLC perspective, the gap (g) introduced a junction capacitance which can influence the resonance frequency.
