Currently the recommendation for optimal range of blood pressure to be maintained in the hospital after traumatic spinal injury with severe neurological deficit is high systolic pressure in order to improve spinal perfusion pressure even with help of pharmaceutical augmentation. Simultaneously measure for reducing intraspinal pressure is recommended by early laminectomy or decompression and fusion where ever indicated.
