Depending on the DSC instrument you are using, the DSC data are typically normalized for scan rate - for MicroCal DSC systems, the raw data from DSC is in units of mcal/min or milliwatts, for scan rate normalization the data is corrected to cal/deg C (or joule/deg C). This is normally automatically done by the data analysis software during data analysis. If you want to calculate enthalpy and deltaCp vlaues, the data also will need to be normalized for concentration, using the sample concentration.
