Just in case, let me confirm that you understand difference between conformation and configuration. Many people commented on E-isomer is stable, but E/Z is not an issue of conformation but that of configuration. For conformation, as I hint before, you should consider the rotational isomers (conformers) generated by rotating all the single bonds. In this case, the only important isomer is formed by the rotation of C(carbonyl)-C(olefin) bond. See the structures below and consider which is more stable.
