I would like to demonstrate a non-specific, general immune-system activation of mild hyperthermia treatment on normal, healthy mouse.
Can anybody suggest me a very simple method to measure this effect? I am open for any idea... (For example change of the leukocyte population in peripheral blood, appearance of some cytokine, etc.)

in general you could compare leukocyte numbers before and after treatment. If you would like to have a closer look you could stain CD80 or CD86 on dendritic cells. Both molecules are considered as activation markes. Moreover if you would like to take a bit more specific look on the T-cell response, you could do an ELISA for cytokines in serum like INF-gamma, IL-12p70, IL-4, IL-10, IL-17. For the first shot however I would compare the leukocyte numbers before and after the treatment.

I think the first thing to do is measure VHS (hemosedimentation velocity) and PCR (reactive c protein).
