Does anyone have experience of Eurasia Research as an invited keynote speaker? How credible is such an invitation? What conditions should I expect? How reliable are they?
I do not know this organisation. I am sceptical, but would like to look into the matter.
Dear Gábor Mélypataki The paper indicated by Sean Bell can be found here https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/acs.analchem.7b03170 , a quite telling story about Eurasia conferences indeed.
The website https://eurasiaconferences.com looks misleadingly professional but at the same time looks quite questionable (and similar to many of these predatory conferences, see for example the list here https://www.evscienceconsultant.com/blog/predatory-meetings-and-how-to-avoid-them ). Other red flags:
-Many different conferences at the same time and the same place
-See for an example of a pointless invitation https://theregoestheneighbourhood.com/blog/index.html?plink=c5c79b6fe2488fd49e0f0b67bed205a7
-Their contact info (124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.) is at best a virtual office https://www.yourvirtualofficelondon.co.uk/contact-capital-office
-Looking at https://eurasiaconferences.com/events/berlin/2024/environmental-and-earth-sciences/committee# and zoom in to for example ‘Daniele de Wrachien’ then it is clear that when graduate in 1966 he is nowadays more than 80 years old. By itself not a problem but I strongly doubt whether he is aware of the fact that his name is used here. When I Googled his name, he is (again I wonder whether he is aware of this) mentioned by SCIRP, Scientia Ricera, Hilaris and two journals associated with ScienceDomain (all mentioned in the Beall’s list)
So, personally I would avoid this one.
