Not currently an area I work in but last I looked there was essentially no evidence that the use of risk assessment scales reduce incidence of pressure ulcers. This is probably in part due to the fact that assessment in isolation does nothing combined with the ratehr poor predictive performance of many scales under most circumstnaces. 

Attached is an editorial I worked on that gives a brief sumarry (nb it's now 5 years old). Andrew Jull my co-author might be a good contact as might Lisete Schoonhoven, now at Southampton
