There are lots of different dye out there that are believed to stain intact/undamaged exosomes and smaller EVs but not cell debris and larger EV, such as microvesicles and apoptotic bodies. Is there a dye that was shown to be highly specific for exosome staining? I know there lots of techniques for that, did anyone compare them? Thank you in advance!

This is a very good question. We have been working with ExoGlow kit from SBI. It has been working very well with exosomes isolated with many techniques and from many sources. Nice thing is that they include liposomes to use as a labeling control. The key in fluorescent labeling in detection is to have fairly concentrated exosome stock, to reduce background.
