we are getting a holo blue zone around the colony in NA plate containing CTAB and Methylene blue.
Mechanism is simple: Anionic surfactants will combine with Cationic surfactants and it will precipitate, leading to release of MB. This method of screening is only useful when you have anionic surfactants. Hope this was useful.
