Hi. I had written a manuscript on Bibliometric Analysis related to oral cancer last year. Since then I had sent it to multiple journals only to get rejected. I request you all to please give me some insights on how to improve the manuscript. As one of the reviewer's comment mentioned that the study adds nothing new to the existing knowledge. The data was analyzed for year of publication, leading countries and their collaboration, source, number of citations, list of highly cited articles and keywords plus with Biblioshiny application.
There are several things you can add:
1.You can perform an analysis that evaluates the overlap of documents in two digital repositories using the Meyer Index (article attached).
2. You can analyze new research trends with a temporal gradient using VOSviewer and add a section discussing the pros and cons of each.
3.- You can include a section on the state of the art, briefly describing how it has evolved and what the current trends are (article attached)
4.- Make a comparison of oral cancer studies with studies of other types of cancer.
5.- A good discussion of how they relate to the SDGs or a specific goal.
6.- Finally, a good discussion of some of your findings can strengthen your manuscript and get it accepted.
