In some protocol of amylase activity determination with DNS . Amylase is expressed as ug amylase/min/milligrame of proteins. my question is what is the meaning of prooteins in this ???
Are you sure about this unit? It looks like two units were mixed together.
If the amylase sample is a crude material that contains many other proteins, it may be described as having so many µg of amylase/mg protein.
The specific activity of the enzyme would be written as µmoles of glucose produced/min/mg protein (µmoles/min/mg).
