in HFSS, when we want to calculate the voltage along a line, we should use calculator and get the integral of electrical field long the line, the result is complex number, I want to know what is the meaning of the real part and imaginary parts of the voltage in HFSS ?
The real and imaginary parts of the voltage give the cosine and sine signals that can be used to get the amplitude and the phase of the signal.
The signal amplitude (voltage) is Square-root(real^2 +imaginary^2) and the signal phase is arctan(imaginary/real). There is a function atctan2() which takes account of the sign of each part to give results over 360 degrees rather than atan(), which only gives results over 180 degrees.
The real and imaginary parts can be though of as the x y coordinates (on an Argand diagram) of the end of a voltage vector rotating around the origin. The amplitude is the length of the vector, and the phase is the angle from the x-axis, measured anticlockwise.
Once you get used to it, using complex numbers, with real and imaginary parts, saves a lot of work with trigonometry (sine and cosine fomulas).
در هنگام طراحی یک مدار هنگامی که ما در فرکانسهای پایین کار میکنیم فاز ولتاژ در تمامی طول سیم یا استریپ فلزی رو زیرلایه برد یکسان است. به این معنی که زمانی که سیگنال سینوسی جریان ما در یک نقطه سیم یا استریپ در حال افزایش برای رسیدن به قله خود هست در تمامی نقاط آن سیم یا استریپ ، سیگنال جریان همزمان در حال افزایش و رسیدن به قله خود است.
زمانی که در فرکانسهای بالا کارمیکنیم دیگر، مفاهیم طراحی مدارات در فرکانس های پایین کابردی ندارند به این معنی که در فرکانسهای بالا به دلیل اینکه سیگنال مانند موج درون سیم و (ادوات الکترونیکی ) حرکت میکند جریان در تمامی نقاط سیم فاز یکسان ندارد
مانند یک سنگ که درون یک دریاچه ساکن میافتد موج به وجود امده زمان میبرد که از یک نقطه به تقطه دیگر برسد درون نقاط مختلف سیم یا استریپ های فلزی هم سیگنال جریان ( یا ولتاژ) فازهای متفاوتی دارد یعنی در یک نقطه از استریپ سیگنال ولتاژ در حال افزایش و. نزدیک شدن به قله و در یک نقطه دیگر در حال کاهش و نزدیک شدن به دره موج سینوسی باشد
از مباحث ریاضی میدانیم که نوع دیگرنمایش چنین سیگنالی که دارای اندازه و فاز است بصورت عدد مختلط دارای بخش حقیقی و موهومی میباشد بنابراین در این نرم افزار که یکی از کاربردهایش تحلیل ادوات فرکانس بالا است اگر شما در نقاط مختلف یک ساختار آنتنی یا موجبر مایکرووی پروب وصل کنید فاز نقاط مختلف آنتن دارای فازهای متفاوت نسبت به اتصال زمین که مرجع صفر در نظر گرفته میشود ، بدست می آید بنابراین در نقاط مختلف ولتاژ یا جریان بصورت اعداد مختلط متفاوت به دست می اید

I wonder, how students start using HFSS before opening Collin, or Gupta? Or passing the Euler's formula on trigonometry (higher school, btw, no theory of transmission lines is given yet). What professor may plan such a bad course?
Andrey Porokhnyuk Ik know about theory of transmission line, and I even know the answer of my question, the main reason that I asked it here, is that, as my results were not as I expected based on analytical calculation, I thought that maybe in HFSS it is different with what I know. Anyway, thank you for your answer
