Seminar: Academic formative space, where a group of people interested in a topic meet to discuss, analyze and reflect on it. This can be done for one or several days. It is an intense training space, of pairs.

Workshop: Educational training space, where a person who masters a technique is presented to a small group of people to teach and train them in that technique. This is done regularly a few hours for a couple of days.

Course: Formal training space where an instructor prepares a course for a group of students, where formal contents will be reviewed and there will probably be some type of evaluation.

Panel of experts: A group of people (three or five) are connoisseurs and experts in a subject to analyze a current situation from different perspectives, giving arguments and points of view. This can last about three hours.

A conference usually includes seminars and workshops. A seminar is where a group of people discusses a topic/topics of their interest. Seminars look similar to workshops but the latter should include educational trainings and practical implementations, I believe. All can be done in one day or several days. Conferences usually last for more than one day.

Generally speaking, a conference is a formal meeting of individuals with a common interest which typically lasts for more than several days. In such gatherings, it is often a common practice to hold some kind of workshop on a specific research issue. On the other hand, seminars are held for small groups of students studying the same course. They are normally led by a tutor in a seminar room. In point of fact, seminars are designed for students to talk about topics in the course reading or lectures in detail so that students can have a more active role in the targeted debates.

the main criteria to differentiate between workshop from the seminar and conference is the practicing or the activities that deals with subject of the workshop, both of seminar and conference are limited to presentation, the seminars may include incomplete project (still working/ there is no final results yet), while in the conferences all the participant declaring their own final results, in addition the audiences in the conference usually more than in seminar.

Workshop is based on a theme in which eminent persons are invited to deliver lectures. In a seminar, key note speakers are invited to deliver and debate on certain topics. In a conference, key note speakers are invited, on the theme deliver lectures and at the same time divided into different sections, paper presentations will be there and conclusions be arrived.

Conferences tend to be the largest events vs. smaller workshops and seminars. 

The difference between a seminar and a workshop is that a seminar tends to be held within one institution or university, and will often a seminar will be a small group of people.

The difference between a workshop and a conference is that workshops are generally smaller than conferences, and are usually only a day or two long and are dedicated to discussing a specific topic.

Conference is a big gathering of researchers. They are given time to give a short presentation on a specific theme and sub themes. The researchers present their research finding, some time published, sometimes unpublished. Duration of a conference is from one day to three days. Conference are arranged for sharing research activities and major findings. It is usually arranged annually.

There are significant differences between workshops, conferences and seminars.

Workshops, usually include hands-on training, technique specific lectures and training certificates are issued to the participants. Conferences are usually organized on a larger scale, and involve participants from different geographical locations. Much pre-planning is required to organize a conference. Technical expert speakers from different parts of the world are usually invited. Seminars include expert presentation to a smaller audience group.

Workshop is organized in a short duration on a specific topic given in the form of series of lectures, Seminar is also the same of a particular theme on different related topics of importance and Conference can be slight a long duration where keynote lectures are arranged, papers presented, evaluated in sessions and lastly conclusions are added.
