I need to buy Teflon vessels which can hold lower volumes of sample for microwave digestion methods for ICP-MS. The current vessels are suitable for only larger volumes like 10ml. Are they any commercially available small volume (2ml) vessels?
Hi Janith, It really depends on the microwave that you are using and what you are trying to achieve. As Lorena has pointed out, the smallest vessel size for the MARS6 system by CEM is in deed 10 mL, and you would only use about 20% of the volume for your digestion/extraction (http://cem.com/en/analytical-products/mars-6/replacement-parts/marsxpress-vessels/); but there is also methods out there that are able to use household microwave ovens and smaller PFA containers as reaction vessels, using house hold microwaves ovens or other heating appliances.
