I diluted my stock DAPI, 5mg/mL (14.3 mM) in diWater, 1 to 10 in 1x PBS and it looks a bit like green curdled milk. I assume this is a strange reaction with the PBS salts. I used this concentration to stain a strain of Serratia and Cloacibacterium and it seems to have worked just fine.

In an attempt reduce the volume of DAPI used; just curious to know if this "curdling" is ok and if anyone could suggest a lower concentration. Staining with 0.5 mg/mL feels a little overkill.
