Could anyone explain me what does the graph obtained from UV spectrophotometer means? I have this graph for my Graphene oxide sample.I know that the absorbance is quite high because the concentration was high. But besides that,what does the peak in the graph means?The maximum peak is at 245nm.

The peak you are referring to at approx. 245 nm is due to the pi to pi* electronic transitions in GO. This is common in GO samples. It may also be possible for you to see another smaller feature at approx. 300 nm which due to the non bonding to pi* electronic transition (referred to as n to pi*) of carbonyl groups
