Phosphorus (P) is macro nutrient and zinc (Zn) is micro nutrient element, though both are essential to the plants. If two different fertilizers containing these two elements are applied to the soil at the same time, what kind of interaction will be occurred? Synergistic or antagonistic? And why?
Thats a very good question , commonly confronted in field. Infact , while applying P and Zn together , there is hardly any interaction at soil-root interface , including during the process of nutrient uptake by plant roots , unless P is in such a high concentration where it could exert any interactive effect by immobilising the Zn concentration at the site of nutrient-root interaction....
