A SAXS curve I(q) consists of two factors: the form factor contains information about the size and shape of the single particles, the structure factor includes contributions from interactions between neighboring particles of composite. For the determination of the interaction of particles in interacting sample systems, the software needs to calculate the structure factor. Structure factor is then used to correct the experimental curve in order to obtain the size and shape of a single particle of composite.
Dear colleague! What is the aim of your studies? I do not know these type of samples. Yes, you can determine size and shape of characteristic structures but you have to apply suitable models for being successful. What SAXS facility do you use? Is there the possibility to vary the the X-ray energy (ASAXS)? Wkr, M. Herms.
