While working on coconut based agroforestry, we considered, interactive effects excreted by the coconut palm on under-story crops were limited to a circle of 2.0 - 2.5 m radius around the base of the palm. This was based on the fact that active root zone of coconut palm was limited to 2.0 m radius (based on research using P-32 isotope at CRI of SL).
