SPSS means the statistical package for social sciences. It has a wide coverage of problem solving: t-test, z-test, ANOVA, f-test, nonparametric methods, Bartlett test, regression analysis, time series analysis, multivariate techniques, etc. It is user-friendly.

It is a wonderful multipurpose program used in statistical analysis characters with accuracy in data analysis for many tests as Dr. Ette Etuk mentioned above.

Python and R can also be used for data analysis and both are open source. Now a days open source s/w are more used.
