En primera instancia partimos de que una comunidad se compone de diferentes especies, en 2do termino para determinar su diversidad se tiene que usar los indicadores o índices necesarios para enterderla, dentro de los que se recomienda los indices ecológicos y que son variados pero entendibles cuando se busca la mejor forma de analizar dicha comunidad, y en tercer termino es recomendable usar índices y estadisticos que te expliquen en mejor forma como se comporta esa comunidad a nivel de ecosistema en tiempo y espacios específicos, de esta forma podras entender además el comportamiento, tipo de habitat y las fluctuaciones que presentan. Entre mayor sea la diversidad la riqueza de especies se incrementa, más sin embargo hay índices ecologicos que te documentan sobre la equitatividad o la distribución de la abundancia de las especies, esto depende de los índices u analisis que estes utilizando. Entre mayor se el valor del índice de diversidad la riqueza de especies se incrementa en forma general. Un ecosistema con una diversidad alta es importante, pero también lo puede ser un ecosistema que no posee una diversidad tan alta, esto depende de los plantamientos y enfoque que le estas dando a tu estudio para la solución de problemas o mantenerla de la mejor forma posible.

In a healthy ecosystem, diverse and balanced number of species exists to maintain the balance of an ecosystem. In an ecosystem, all the species depend on each other directly or indirectly. So to make a more efficient, productive and sustainable ecosystem, it is important to maintain high species diversity. Greater biodiversity in ecosystems, species, and individuals leads to greater stability. As, species with high genetic diversity and many populations that are adapted to a wide variety of conditions are more likely to be able to weather disturbances, disease, and climate change. n an ecosystem, all the species and organisms depend on each other directly or indirectly. Generally, a more diverse ecosystem tends to be more productive. Greater species richness and productivity make an ecosystem more sustainable and stable. Species diversity is a measure of community complexity. It is a function of both the number of different species in the community and their relative abundances. Larger numbers of species and more even abundances of species lead to higher species diversity. Soil biodiversity is recognized as a critical influence on agriculture as it can enhance sustainability through improved: soil structure and soil water movement and nutrient availability. Species diversity represents the number and relative abundance of species in a biological community. Ecological diversity is the variety of ecosystems which indicates diversity in the number of niches, trophic levels, food webs, habitats, preferences and activity of species of a similar group. The interaction among organisms within or between overlapping niches can be characterized into five types of relationships: competition, predation, commensalism, mutualism and parasitism. The three types of interactions in an ecosystem are competition, predation and symbiosis. Symbiosis also contains three different types of interactions including mutualism, commensalism and parasitism.
