The impacts to agriculture are already happening: farmers are dumping produce and culling flocks with reduced incentive to grow; workers are getting sick and are unable to pick or process; immigrant workers are prevented from entry into countries; meat packing plants are closing down; etc.

If there are major outbreaks of the illness among workers in the energy industry, there could be disruptions. This could certainly happen at drilling operations. Demand for oil is down so drilling operations could slow down, which would impact water use that accompanies drilling.

It impacts the subsidies or economic support provided to farmers, which implies drop in food production.

How economy impacts agriculture, power and water: Fall in economic inputs (along with man power) in energy sector, which reduces the production of power supply. short fall in power production ultimately impacts the, agriculture production depended on irrigation from power supply and also for food processing industries too.

I think self-sufficiency is the whole idea behind the prepper mentality. Unfortunately, it often gets mixed up with religion and white supremacy and arms and can become violent. But the basic idea is that being as self-sufficent as possible is probably not a bad idea as the effects of climate change become more impactful. It seems to COVID-19 has many effects on the resources and productions in Nexus. The virus indirectly affects water quality and in domestic wastewater it could be remained, with using effluent wastewater in agriculture sector we import COVID-19 into the land, soil, plants, crops, groundwater. Energy consumption to run electronic equipment at home will be high and compete with other uses of water resources. To meet the health demands that are under high pressure, energy consumption will increase. As such, water and energy resources will be under pressure to meet priority needs of health care while the capacity to produce food will be negatively affected.

Joan Nyika Do you have real measured data or it is only your expectations? I can argue quite the opposite. Many services and factories are shut down and their water consumption is almost zero. So I can expect a decrease of water consumption.

In fact, the impact on water use will depend on the measures taken against pandemics by individual governments and the structure of water use in the region. It can be a different region to region.

I think certainly there is and will remain a high impact. The demand for clean water and food has increase substantially and will continue in the trajectory. The concern is, will the supply meet the demand. Even before COVID-19, food and clean water supply was deficient in many countries (especially developing countries).
