Sometimes a journal is a place where you create a track record. You have no idea the amount of plagiarism there is in academia and surrounding (among crackpots).
Thanks, Kay. Since my work has been plagiarized often, I value that publication for its dating value. It is also an outlet for my research. I have no regrets publishing there.
Reality is that the community (through editors and keeping silent) allows for censorship and plagiarism. The best someone that does not work in academia can do it just to date their work and hope for the better. Again, plagiarism is a plague in Science. People should be better than that.
