I recently came across several paper where people applied flow Cytometer technique to river water and ocean water monitoring for its phytoplanktons, algae and bacteria concentration. I wanted to know what can be done in this field in the future? How prospective it would be to explore such a field which is having a direct socio-economic and climatic impact.
