With the developing stories of the spread of COVID-19 all around the world, which has been declared as a pandemic by WHO recently, I am wondering, in how much time this virus would vanish from the surface of the Earth? Is there any scientific study available for this?
Please share your opinions.
According to experts COVID-19 may never go away. Even if the pandemic is curbed in one part of the world, it will likely continue in other places, causing infections elsewhere. And even if it is no longer an immediate pandemic level threat, the SARS-CoV-2 will likely become endemic. The virus will continue to cause smaller outbreaks, much like seasonal flu.

Vanish? How? As with almost all human circulating pathogens, it'll continue to circulate, but it probably won't cause as much issues as it keeps circling the globe towards the end of the year as we develop immunity against it, and/or we find a vaccine against it. The previous SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV and the other 4 are still circulating.
It won't vanish, it will continue to circulate through humans and it's native animal host. It may mutate/evolve and come back, some coronaviruses (common cold) do that, basically they have a weak (error prone) reproduction. If it keeps it's present lethal nature that is not good, we may need annual vaccines like with flu.
World by nature never free from Pandemic diseases. There are lot of diseases, we never get them or they didn't get opportunity to grow and affect the human being. COVID-19 is here to stay. We'll most probably develop immunity to it. If it mutates, which is very likely, we will need annual vaccines to it as happens with flu.
One of the things I don't understand is why it looks like in some patients, esp the first case in Italy and in RSA, seem to stay positive for the virus for prolonged periods of time. Sub-acute/chronic infection in some cases, or there are other factors?
After another 2 months, it will come down. Herd immunity will prevail all over the world for this virus by that time period.
Vaccine will be available by next 1 and half month.
COVID-19 disease will eventually become seasonal, like flu. We should have vaccines developed in the future to immunize ourselves, and protect us from the disease.
Nirmal Mohakud The vaccine won't be available by at least 1 year. Several report says. Because it needs to go through all kind of testings, such as its potency, stability and possible side effects it can cause.

It will not vanish but we will have vaccines and treatments to assure that we are not going to face situation like we are facing at present.

That is very difficult to tell. Still, the vaccination is in infant form. After the vaccine only we can invest more 10-15 yeast to vanish it.

The virus is most probably not going to vanish from the surface of earth. It will mutate, recombine with other viruses to create either less or more virulent strains. It is a never ending fight and each year we will have to create new vaccines and cocktails of vaccines. With the constant increase in world population and mass travelling within and between continents will vastly contribute to the spreading of the new viruses

Coronaviruses have been there for ages. Once COVID-19 pandemic ends (God knows when?), other coronavirus epidemic threats will still loom over the world.
The intensity of current COVID-19 pandemic would likely decrease with time due to development of herd immunity in the exposed population, leading to sporadic cases in the years to come.
If a vaccine is found, it could mean the end. However, maybe no vaccine will ever be found (if it happens that it is not a natural virus, as was suggested in the video of Plandemic).

COVID-19 appears to be highly contagious before the vaccine is available. It can end when it becomes widespread and people's resistance increases.
It's still going up in some countries. All are trying to control but failed. It's too difficult to think about elimination at this stage.
It is very difficult to predict the expected time of COVID 19 novel corona virus to vanish from the earth's surface as is the case seen now. If control and preventive measures are eventually effective, people are self conscious, test kits are sufficient to diagnose, medical facilities greatly improved, and a vaccine developed, the transmission will slow down, and hopefully this COVID 19 outbreak will eventually slowdown and then vanish.
Even an effective vaccine does not guarantee that it would be wiped out from the surface of the earth. HIV/AIDS is not still wiped out. The only way it could be wiped out is if it is taken away by God Himself. Even with the vaccine, it will only be used for reduction purposes. However, there will be a time it will become like malaria if not wiped out of the surface of the earth, where it will not have so much impacts and would be seen as normal sickness.

It is still continuing, but it will not be so dangerous in due course of time.
The virus seems to be not going away any time soon. We pin our hopes on an effective vaccine and hope the virus mutates into a less virulent one. Otherwise, we will have it for years and the economic effects can be far reaching to more than 2 years after a vaccine has been found.
There is no sure documents or assurances can be given that the Novel Corona Virus will be terminated or vanished from the earth. There are still many research going on and the Virus is also getting modified it's existence in the nature and surely there is no cure for this virus except we have develop our immunity power and take up the suppliments for production of more antibodies which are the only hero's which can kill the virus from inside the body.

As far as the situation is observed, it is hard to predict when the COVID-19 Corona virus will vanish or whether it will vanish at all or not from the surface of the earth.
In my view, it could not be eradicated from the earth ill development of an effective vaccine.
After one year, I think the virus is really fighting to continue tormenting us despite the vaccines being rolled out. So time will tell whether it will vanish.
Till the development of an effective vaccine which has the 100% efficacy against all strains of the virus.

As the coronavirus, COVID-19 is mutating and changing its genetic strain, and even after the application of recommended vaccines, it is still unpredictable to say when it is going to vanish from the earth's surface.
