An adiabatic process is when there is no heat transfer. A reversible adiabatic process for an ideal gas can be shown to follow PVk=constant, where k is the ratio of specific heats. For air at room temperature this is about 1.4. Reversible adiabatic processes would be the ideal adiabatic process.
