I am looking to discuss here, about the sign (direction) of skin-friction at wall (wall shear-stress), at boundary-layer over flat plate with zero incidence. Is it in direction of the moving fluid? I have consulted some online sources, but the enigma still philosophically sticks in my mind.

Look at this online source: http://nptel.ac.in/courses/101103004/module5/lec9/5.html

in contrast, there are other online sources giving the skin friction at wall at the opposite direction ! contradiction?! or convention?! how about the physical interpretation?!

I also remember an online source, but could not find currently on a Google search, that the sign is a convention, and not physically justified.
