The difference between VENSIM and AnyLogic (System Dynamic Module) for solving the SD models can be expalinde as follows:
In general speaking, different computer software, such as Vensim, Anylogic, iThink, and Stella, also exists that are capable of simulating system dynamics (SD) models. Some of these tools are also capable of combining SD models with other types of simulation to create hybrid models for more realistic analysis (e.g., Anylogic).
But in general as a routine procecedure, Vensim is applied for SD but Anylog is more used for Agent Based Simulation (ABS). In other word, Vensim is more powerful for SD simulations.
- In SD the level of details is low but in ABS it is high.
- In SD the Main Components are Stock variables, flows, feedback loops but in ABS they are Individual agents, drivers, interactions.
- In SD the Applications are Policy Investigation, Strategy Evaluation, but in ABS the applications are Consumer Behaviour, Network Effects.
- In SD the examples can be: Strategies of number of rides, discounts, pricing, and future improvements, but examples for ABS can be: Analysis of user (agent) satisfaction, pattern of selection.
