Which can register more number of Alpha emitters for SSNTDs, the detector put in touch with the sample or the detector put at 2cm distance from the sample; to me I think the second scenario will register the most number.
Nada Farhan Kadhim , Why do you think the second will register more tracks?
Btw, which sample do you use?

It depend on
1- source active diameter,
2- energy of the emitted alpha,
3- SSNTDs efficiency,
alpha particles are supposed to be emitted in 4 pi directions however, we consider the down part (the 2 pi).
I think in contact will give the more number
I do the expermint and I put some grams of sample in a polymer cup . the first detector l put in touch with the sample , the second l put it at a distance of about 2cm. Tha result was the track density for the second model is more than the first.
I suggest that is happen because the surface area in the second model is larger than in the first model .Thus the no. Of tracks l calculate is more
