I am applying "electric potential" boundry condition at top surface and specifying the bottom surface as ground. But for applying terminal boundary condition at top surface I am facing problem as it shows only to select domain instead of boundary.
Please suggest
1) How to select only any surface for terminal boundary condition
2) What is the difference between these two
From what I know about ACDC Comsol module and its Boundary Conditions (BC, in the following):
- electrical potential BC: it provides a specified potential V0 on an edge (3D) or point (2D)
- terminal BC: you use this BC if you want to connect to external circuits, transmission lines, or with a specified voltage or charge (also, if you want to simulate lumped parameter models)

If you are trying to select a boundary (so, I think that you are working in 3D simulations), but the whole domain is selected: when a domain is selected, the BC is a Volume BC (e.g., if you create a ACDC module, it has to refer to the whole volume, while the "subnodes", which are the other BC can refer to the domain (3D simulations), surface/edges (2D) or point (1D).
So, please check that your BC is effectively an electrical potential BC, otherwise please attach an image with the problem.

Thank you for your quick answer. I got a clear idea about Electric potential and terminal BC.
Yes I am working in 3D model. A piezoelectric sensor(10mmx10mmx0.2mm) is used in the model. I have to use terminal and ground BC at top and bottom surface of PZT. For ground I am able to select the bottom surface but for terminal while selecting it is not showing top surface instead the whole PZT is highlighting to select. Please need help.
