Upon cooling from the smectic A phase at 55 degree celsius, a tiny transition bars is observed across the fan-shaped boundaries. Further mechanical disturbance is induced, but the fan-shaped remained firm and does not change. So, whether it is assigned a soft crystal B phase or hexatic B phase. Attached is the XRD pattern obtained when cooling at 50 degree celsius.
